Colonial Secretary,

I have the honour to state, for the information of His Excellency the Acting Governor, that the disturbance, which Major-General Gordon predicted probably consequent on the reduction in diet recently introduced into this Gaol, and to quell which he obtained summary powers of flogging, took place this morning, when 135 of the prisoners mutinied, and refused to go to work.
